On August 29, 2025, Abdi Gedi, President of the Madhiban Minority Community in Australia, attended an important meeting alongside Jo Briskey, Member of the Australian House of Representatives, to discuss supporting refugees in camps and reuniting separated families.
The Madhiban Minority Community (MMC) Committee is made up of representatives dedicated to advocating for equality, supporting refugees, and protecting the rights of Madhiban people in Australia.
A historic day for our community! On 6 September 2025, Madhiban members in Melbourne came together for our very first gathering — celebrating unity, culture, and new beginnings.
We gathered not only to connect and celebrate, but also to stand for our rights and shape a future where every voice is valued, every right defended, and every contribution recognised.
